With bright red vests, Santa hats, reindeer antlers and of course, loads of Christmas cheer, the Mid America Freedom Band under Skip Schrock proudly took to the stage and graciously shared it with the youngsters from PerformOUTKC during their holiday concert.

The Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City announced five business honorees and two individual honorees of the upcoming ArtsKC Awards. This year’s business honorees include: Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Kansas City Area Development Council, Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, and the Sprint Foundation. Individual honorees are Steve Metzler & Brian Williams.

Rocco Landesman, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, has announced that the Harriman-Jewell Series has been approved for a grant of $7,500 to support the Discovery Concerts, which bring new artists to new audiences at no cost to the public.
