Stripped of his costumes and sets, with only himself and accompanist, the rising opera star showcased a beautiful voice and a bundle of nerves.

The MO House Budget Committee will be voting on amendments to the Missouri Arts Council's budget next week. Although, last month the House Appropriations Committee for Economic Development recommended the Governor's recommended increase of $1.2 million for the Missouri Arts Council's FY2012 budget, the House Budget Chairman Ryan Silvey, (R-Kansas City), has proposed a House Committee Substitute to ELIMINATE the funding for the Arts and the four cultural partners.

It is one of the greats in the repertoire. The Friends of Chamber Music presents the outstanding original instrument ensemble Akademie für alte Musik Berlin in works of Bach and Telemann. Meanwhile, opera fans can enjoy the Civic Opera presentation of Conrad Susa’s Transformations.
