KCMetropolis.org was created to fill a critical need for substantive performing arts coverage in our community. We cover the traditional and independent performing arts in the Kansas City metropolitan area in several ways:

  • Critical and unbiased reviews, previews and interviews as writers and scheduling allows
  • Press releases on local arts news

Although we do try to cover as many performances as possible, the volume of great performing arts in the metropolis just doesn't allow us to review and preview everything.

KCMetropolis.org relies heavily on the KC Events calendar to schedule and assign stories.  Please make sure that your event is listed on KC Events.

  • To submit press releases and other news information to KCMetropolis.org, please send to Press@KCMetropolis.org
  • High resolution electronic photos should accompany press releases whenever possible.
  • For letters to the editor and all other inquiries, please go to our Contact Us page or email Info@KCMetropolis.org

"KC EVENTS" CALENDAR GUIDELINES
KCMetropolis.org's mission is to promote traditional and independent classical music, dance, theatre and independent film. We are very sorry, but we do not cover pop, rock, Christian or country music; we do not cover the visual arts or non-performing arts community events. 

KC Events Categories are:
Classical Music
New Classical Music
Dance
Theatre
Jazz

To Submit Information:

  • Please go to the KCM front page and click on the login tab located at the top right-hand side of the website.
  • Create a login account and then sign-in.
  • Read the KC Events Terms of Service before proceeding
  • On the left-hand nav is a category called Submit Content
  • Click on Submit an Event or Manage Your Events.
  • Listings will be approved with 48 hours if it fits the KCMetropolis.org criteria
  • Click here for a quick reference guide to loading in events.

AUDTIONS:
KCMetropolis.org is happy to list auditions for your organziation in the Auditions Column located on the front page.

To submit information for this please:

  • Send two or three paragraphs with your pertinent information including the name of your organization, the name of the performance, dates, times and location of the audition, contact information and qualifications required.
  • Supply a live link to your website for more information.
  • Send information as a text press release in a Word.doc or in the body of an email.
  • Please send Auditions info to press@kcmetropolis.org
