Dear KCM Reader,
We wanted to let you know that KCMetropolis will no longer be publishing, effective immediately.
We are so honored to have covered the Kansas City Metro for the past 10 years, and to have helped in some small way with the amazing renaissance in our arts community.
KCM has been a labor of love, born out of the recession, written, edited and published in the wee small hours of the morning and during the weekends. Our talented editors and writers worked ‘day’ jobs and attended concerts, plays, shows in the evenings, while still nurturing and growing their own careers. Lately, however, it has become apparent that we are still not able to secure the funding to make us sustainable.
We would like to sincerely thank the following foundations for supporting us over the years: the Richard J. Stern Foundation for the Arts, the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation, the Francis Family Foundation, the William T. Kemper Foundation who helped us build a new website, and ArtsKC who funded us from year one. We are so grateful to the individual donors and family foundations who have supported us over the years, and a special thanks to the people who most recently donated to our Facebook fundraiser and helped us end this year (June 30, 2018) in the black. You can see a list of these wonderful people here: https://kcmetropolis.org/donate/
Thank you too, to the arts organizations that advertised with us – you also helped us continue year after year.
KCMetropolis will remain up during the month of July (but with no new content), and some of August. We are working to archive the website with the Kansas City Library; there are over 6,000 articles covering 10 years of Kansas City’s arts history.
It has been such a pleasure and privilege to cover the incredibly rich arts offerings in our community.

Writers & Editors,
and Marcy Chiasson, Executive Director/Publisher
